MERCHANTS OF INFINITY

We had a brilliant time at the UK GAMES EXPO in Birmingham and had hundreds of responses from gamers as to which game they'd like to see from us next, between our upcoming Viking dice-stacking (drinking) game, SKAL! and our brilliant sci-fi strategy game, MERCHANTS OF INFINITY. We also spoke to some industry experts about shipping (which is currently a nightmare, as I'm sure you know), fulfilment and resourcing. The overall message was as follows:

a) Merchants looks absolutely brilliant and gorgeous and should definitely be made.

b) Shipping is insane and big box games are being told to wait until the shipping rate goes down to a sensible level.

Therefore, what we have decided to do is to agree with YOU, the voters and go ahead with SKAL! for a 2022 Kickstarter, to then follow up hopefully in the first quarter of 2023 with MERCHANTS once the shipping rate goes down enough!

MERCHANTS OF INFINITY

Welcome to the boundaries of space. Where worlds meet and collide. Where mysteries abound, fortunes are there to be made and destinies to be forged, aboard the Mandelbrot space station. Do you have what it takes to beat the bazaar, get the best deals, fulfil orders, trade, scheme and outwit all the other MERCHANTS OF INFINITY?

MERCHANTS OF INFINITY is a space-bound game of resource-management, worker-placement, hand-management,

set-collecting, auctioning and making lots of money! To win the game, you must be the player who gains the most amount of Platinum (the game currency and victory points) at the end of the game.

MOI takes place on Mandelbrot: a space station on the more-pleasant reaches of fractal space. Traders, adventurers, travellers and tourists explore its crowded streets, sample its strange foods and trade and negotiate their way to profit and prosperity. Players are influential merchants with wide-ranging contacts and money to invest, to maximise profit. Should they trade in technology or navigational charts this cycle or put their money into spices, jewellery and food? Will they win their desired resources at a bargain price at the auction or secure a valuable order for goods at the spaceport? The clock turns, the warp winds and fractal space unfolds!

WHAT'S IT ABOUT?

* It's a trading game set on board a space station!

* It's got different game mechanics, including: worker placement, resource-management, set-collection, auctions, hand-management and more.

* You win the game by collecting the most PLATINUM through trading, ship orders and bonus points.

WHO WOULD LIKE THIS GAME?

Hopefully, everyone!

* "I like tactics and thinking ahead." Yes, you'll like beating the market and out-thinking the other players.

* "I like completing actions and getting paid!" Yes, you'll like fulfilling ship orders and playing with money tokens.

* "I like stories and lots of table talk." Yes, you can play it like that if you like... but you don't have to. There are lots of ways to enjoy it!
